I’m thinking about chipping my truck. If I do so how do I delete the emissions? Also what software interface do I need to use? Will I need my 4 digit pin?

Please define "chipping"...... Are you talking about uploading a different tune to the PCM??

 

Yes I’m going to delete the emissions reprogram the PCM/BCM and add a tuner looking at an EZY Link or something along that line.

 

Just make sure it has the capability to WRITE to the PCM..... Generally, the stuff that allows you to read, edit, write, is rather expensive. Especially for the newer stuff. Fair few folks offer custom tuning, I don't know what the average handheld will allow you to customize these days though.

 

and be ok with losing you powertrain warranty or service contract warranty. if you come in with a blown headgasket, engine or trans they will check to see how many times the pcm has been flashed. Even if its all returned to stock; If it has more flashes than what has been done for warranty work...they will know you chipped it and deny warranty.

 

You need to get the whole kit with the egt delete pipe, egr delete and tuning, there is still a lot of them for sale on eBay.
