So i got into a accident awhile back. I got hit in the right rear passenger tire. Have not went through insurance yet. The accident bent my right rear axle , which i replaced thinkink it would fix my problem. So the problem im having is my right rear tire/rim sits further in then my driver side rear tire. The driver rear side tire sits 1 " 3/4 further then the passenger. I got a 4 wheel alignment done thinking it would also solve the issue but it didnt. So now im getting measurments done for the frame to see if anything is tweaked. For these 4th gens being independent suspension , could it be possible my differential shifted over ? Spring saddle looks straight also. So im running out of ideas, hoping nothing wrong with the subframe. Let me know fellas , thanks Driver side rear Passenger side rear
Take a look at a similar truck, and see if it doesn't look the same. I know some of them aren't precisely centered under the truck, but, yours does seem a bit excessive.....
Moving this to fourth gen ram section for ya. Welcome to DF!
how does dodge keep the rear end in place on these trucks? (btw 17s are still a solid rear axle, just with coil springs instead of leaf springs)
was it offset before you got hit? is the truck lifted? i know that in a panhard bar setup as you change the height of the vehicle the axle slides sideways a bit, not 100% certain what setup dodge used on these, but its a real possibility that there is nothing wrong.
Check your panhard bar (track bar) that’s what keeps your axle left to right like you’re talking about . It’s probably bent .
for example when our trucks get lifted they naturally shift the axle toward the passenger side because the bar is too short. So you make it longer with a bracket or a new one. Yours probably bent on impact which would push it out as well
