2013 1500 sport


lost my key, dealer programs new key truck starts, drive around the block, shut it off. Get no key fob and wrong key fob error. Reprogram a different key, same result.

any help would be appreciated. Dealer is a little lost.

My fob got drop in a lake in 80’ of water. I got towed to a dealer. Setting of the alarm in the truck, when he jimmyed the door open. It went off eventuality. The dealer cleared all keys from the truck and then reprogrammed the new key. Truck started and we drove back to lake to pull the boat out. Shut truck off. Went to start it and now go. Wrong key fob error.

got towed back again. Programmed another fob. Same result. You can actually start and stop it over and over, but as soon as you drive a distance. 100yds even, shut it off then the key doesn’t work. Bring us to the end of Friday.

Monday we tried a third newer mode fob. Exact same result.

dealer is a little lost and I’m 1000 miles from home and want to be there. Lol

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Dealer needs to contact their support buddies at corporate, and see if they can figger it out.

 

Not to wake a dead post but, did you figure out what happened? My mom's 2009 Ram 1500 just started doing this. I Ioticed when it does this, I just take the fob out of the fob hole and unlock the truck with the fob, then stick it back in the ignition, then it will start. So far atleast that fix has not failed.

 

The description in the original post almost sounds like the truck is going into "car jack" mode. Although thinking more about that, it may have only functioned that way if the vehicle no longer sensed the fob as inside the vehicle.
