Hi, I have a 2010 Ram 1500 ST 4WD Quad Cab with the 4.7L engine. I looked up the technical specs on here and it says a few different numbers so I want to verify.
Under GCWR it says 11,500 12,500 8,500 lbs 8500 min 15500 max
Under WT Distribution Hitch Max Trailer Weight it says 7050, 6250 lbs 6250 min 10,200 max.
why different numbers and what is correct?

Weight distributing hitch gives you better control over the trailer, so, you can pull more. The variations in how much you can pull is likely related to axle gear ratio, and wheel size. I come up with 6 to 7K pounds for your truck.

 

Thank you. I found 6050 when I looked it up elsewhere. I tow a 5000 pound travel travel trailer with a weight distribution hitch. It definitely helps

 

How much stuff do you put in the trailer? You would be surprised at how quickly the weight accumulates.
