Default Trans shift issue

2013 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L V8 Hemi automatic trans

from fresh start revs a little high then comes back to normal immediately, then when driving from 1st to 2nd gear shift it hits 2000rpm and stalls there even while increasing speed. If I let the gas off a bit the trans will shift and continue normally then entering 4th on occasion it will stall again at around 2000rpms and I have to release gas a bit to cause the shift. Also every once in awhile there is a slight flutter of rpms just cursing at 45 mph. 2000 rpms flutter to about 2300 and back again multiple times really quick. Should also note I’ve yet to have a flush done or anything of that nature since purchasing this vehicle from the original owner/dealership currently at 80k miles. First point I’m guessing would be to see if a flush and such will solve the issue? I’m at a complete loss for what could be wrong and don’t want to just spend needless money when it could be something simple. Thanks for help in advance

Flush is unlikely to help, more like to cause more problems......

Do the RPMs fluctuate even with holding the go-pedal steady? Will tiny movements of the pedal cause the issue?

not usually no, only in a certain gear and tiny movements cause the shift I need to happen usually. Otherwise no it holds right where supposed to and drives exactly normal

All to well.

Might wanna consult with a trans shop, if there is one around you can trust, and see what they think.

Here is what I would do, Replace the transmission filters. Since its a RFE transmission. You want to make sure to replace the O-ring for the main filter. Using a hammer and a 5/8 socket to seal the O-ring into the pump. The other filter is a spin on filter. When getting the filter kit, Make sure you tell them you have either a 4x2 or 4x4 truck. The pans are different on both transmission. When you have the filter down. Look at the side plate on the valve body. That side plate is common to snap off the screw heads and bending the plate to where the accumulator pop out and you will loose 3rd and 4th gears. There is a kit for the side plate if there is a problem.
