Default Hemi tick?

Truck was struggling to accelerate the other day in the morning then the engine light came on while in the freeway, took it to the mechanic and they said it would be 5-6k to inspect and fix, they suggested I change out spark plugs first so I did and then drove a few miles and no engine light has come on yet, there is however a slight tick and im worries it’s the dreaded tick that everyone says it’s so common. If it’s the tick and the camshaft and lifters need to be changed, do y’all suggest the camshaft bearings be changed also when changing out camshaft?

Try adding a quart of transmission fluid then change the oil and filter first and replace the oil control valve before you do that. The ATF has detergent and will help clean the lifters. Oil control valve is under the intake manifold.
