7 weeks ago today, I had to have my original owner 09' 1500 ST (280k miles) towed into the dealer for Lifetime Power train warranty work on a failed 42RLE transmission. 7 weeks ago, and still they are waiting on parts. What parts could possibly be on Back-order that long on my 42RLE transmission? Anyone else having issues with Dealer supplied repair parts like this?

 

Pretty much everything is backlogged due to the pandemic. Lets hope that the auto manufacturers learn something from this, and start sourcing parts a bit closer to home.....

 

Are you sure it a 42RLE and not a 545RFE? Unless you have a 3.7 engine which has a 42RLE transmission. The 4.7 and hemi motors would have the RFE transmission.

 

MasterTech, yes, mine is a 3.7l quad cab 2wd with the 42RLE I've had the converter replaced a couple years ago under the LTPTW but now it needs a whole rebuild. They say they cannot get parts, but they wont tell me which parts they cannot get. I'm wondering if my Hot tub will get here (after a 14 month wait), before a few transmission parts can arrive.

 

Its funny, The internal parts are the same as a 41TE transmission, The valve body, front pump and torque converter are not the same. That 41TE has.
