Lifter issue for the 2nd time after 6 months
unfortunately, replacing the block or having the block boiled out are not financial (or time for that matter) options right now. This is my Ex Wife's truck that I am doing my best to support her with. I am at the point that I just want to get this thing running and driving to the best of my ability, and give it back to her. Knowing that, If I am going to do a Flush, wondering what is going to be the "best" method.
Just a flush isn't going to get all the crap out of the motor, and you will be here again in a few months, with the same problem. Might not be a bad idea to just throw a used motor into it then, and call it a day. If you have to replace the cam and lifters again, probably cost about the same too.
So Ive decided that I am going to pull the block. Everything comes out and i am gonna clean everything out. If there are any remnants anywhere, I will then send it to a shop to get boiled. ...Sigh..... I just ordered new lifters (again) also so I am gonna swap those all out at the same time. Also gonna clean the intake manifold inside and out completely.
I am a die hard Mopar fan, but I just cant win with this. I love my truck, I do not love this engine anymore. don't think I'll ever buy another Hemi. This thing has gotten into my pocket so much at 160,000 miles and I am super **** about doing all my regular maintenance.
