i have a 2012 1500 and can’t figure out why my reverse lights aren’t working, from my understanding there’s no fuse so what next?

Wow, what a screwed up system..... The trans range sensor tells the PCM what gear it thinks the trans is in. (by where you put the shifter) The PCM then communicates that via the can bus to the TIPM, which turns on the reverse lights. Or not....

Whoever though this overcomplicated system was a good idea should be taken out behind the barn...... and buried.

I would suspect that if the indicator in the cluster tells you it's in reverse, but, the lights don't come on, problem in the tipm.....

Is it safe to assume that you've checked the bulbs and confirmed whether or not you're getting good power and ground to the bulb sockets? Do you know if anything's been done to the truck since the last time they worked, such as a trailer wiring harness was installed, the truck was involved in a rear-end collision, etc.?
