Also, pull the intake air tube and check for a build up of carbon on the throttle plate and intake. Assuming this is a newer Ram with throttle by wire (answering the previous question about what you are driving will help confirm that) you certainly should not have to apply throttle to get the truck to start. But if you're driving a carbureted truck, then this won't be the correct forum for your question.

2010 1500 5.7. I'm getting the same but I live in eastern Wa state. So hot weather, right now anyway, isn't in the equation. I've been getting this off and on for a few months now. It started as a rare occurrence. It is happening much more often now. I just replaced my battery, as it was bad, so that isn't an issue either. Is this a direction I should be looking for mine as well? Once now, she started when I held the key in the run position for a second longer. When it does happen, if I turn back to off and back to run again, she'll turn over every time. Turn and no start is maybe 1 our of 10 starts. Maybe less. I don't drive much and my memory sucks.

This work around is typically quite indicative of a failing fuel pump and/or restriction in the fuel line, including the fuel filter. And, hence why the recommendations to check the fuel pressure.

Hmm, I wonder if it might be my WIN. This morning, turn and no power at all. Nothing. I forgot that I get that one every so often. Still, turn to off, then back to run, and she'll start every time. I just replaced the battery last month, and the charge reads plenty when everything works fine.

Bad switch???? There are likely other possible causes for that..... The electronics in these are rather deep.....
