Ambient temperature sensor
I need to replace the ambient temp sensor on my 2017 Laramie. It's reading 60 degrees outside when its 85 and my engine light is on. Already did diagnostic. Everything I've researched says it should be between the grill and radiator. I removed the grill and cannot locate it anywhere. Can somebody point me in the right direction please. A picture even better! Thanks
Thank you jkeaton! I found it easily to replace. Literally takes two minutes. Looks like I need to find a new repair shop because they wanted to charge me $313 to replace this $15 part. Disappointed in them.
If you could make over 300 bucks in two minutes, I bet you would do that all day.
Funny thing is that my line of work is sales. Long term valuable relationships are built on customer service, trust and credibility that then leads to way more money in the long run. I take 4 of my family's cars to this shop for regular service and major service. If he would have said to me that this is a simple fix and charge me $100 for diagnostic, part and replace I would have been happy. He may have not made an extra $200 in two minutes but he also wouldn't have lost me as a customer and several thousands of dollars over the next couple years. It makes me think what else he has overcharged me for over the last couple years. Sad for a family owned local business. Thanks again for your help!

Did the new ambient temp sensor fix the issue that was causing the check engine light to come on? I'd be a bit surprised if an ambient temp sensor causes a check engine light. Maybe the shop you've been going to was also estimating to fix a secondary issue that maybe was indicated by the diagnostic code.
