Default Need lifter help

I have a 2015 dodge ram 5.7 hemi, and need to replace lifters, a mechanic I am not.
After taking it numerous places for diagnosis, even a camera, my 3rd cylinder lifter is not properly working, I hear no ticking or knocking, just a misfire fealing. So I think the cam is OK, no power loss. I'm coming to you guys Because I'm totally lost on what to order, A mechanic said he would do the job for 800 if I get the parts, here's where I'm lost. If the oem is known to fail, I don't want to use them, am I thinking wrong ? I've heard mds has a ticking sound, I don't like that either.

So I need an aftermarket lifter kit with all parts needed, not sure what all that is, gaskets, rods ? All I know is the head has to come off, so might as well get everything that might be needed, even a cam I guess, or what do you guys think.

If anybody would be kind enough to post a link of what I need, I would be so grateful, would like to stay around 4-500 if at all possible, might be cheaper, I honestly don't know. I'm nowhere near a mechanic. Thank you Gentlemen, John

Ok, merged two threads.

I would have the mechanic take a look at things, and verify the cam is ok...... usually, when a lifter fails on these, the cam goes with it...... How many miles on it?

Only about 120k, sorry I merged 2 threads together. It's a 2015 ram 5.7 , no power loss or knocking or ticking, just feels like a misfire. Not wanting to go with oem lifters if thier notorious for fail, not wanting mds because I've heard they tick, so I'm needing a recommendation on what kit to buy. Being the head has to come off, I cans see just replacing 1. I get code p303, had mechanics change plugs, coils, injectors, that was a no go so they put a camera down there and said it the 3rd cylinder lifter

MDS is cylinder 1, 4, 6, and 7.... You could install an MDS delete kit, and I think you can turn off via the cluster.... (not sure on that)

I believe that mopar updated the lifter design..... so, they *should* be reliable..... Still and all, need to get eyes on the cam, to see what kind of shape it is in. If you have something else to drive while the truck is down, have the mechanic tear it down, and inspect, let ya know exactly what ya need.
