I realize that I probably did something wrong. I watched a guide video and did just as it said, but now it’s throwing codes and running rough. How could I go about figuring out what I did wrong?

P0301 and P2302 are related, they both deal with cylinder 1, first one is telling you there is a misfire, second one is telling you its a coil problem. Check the connection first, if that looks good, swap the coils on 1 and 3, see if the miss follows the coil.

P1004 is short runner valve issue. Make sure the actuator for that is actually plugged in....

Describe exactly what you did and what you laid hands on.

I followed a YouTube tutorial from 1AAuto. I actually had an extra coil pack, replaced the one in Cylinder 1 yesterday, and now the truck seems to be running much better. Check engine light is still on, but it can take time to go back off. For some reason my scan tool is unable to clear the code, but it’s never been able to clear codes on this truck. It’s a cheap Harbor Freight one. But it seems I may have just had a faulty replacement part. Also, I realized I forgot to tighten the clamp on the air intake when reassembling, so that may be what caused P1004
