Default Mds delete and now truck runs great at idle but multiple misfires under load

I recently replaced my cam and lifters with an mds delete kit from Amazon. The reviews are hit or miss and I’m beginning to think I need to send the crap back.
The truck starts right up, runs really great on cold start then sits at about 7-800 rpm. In reverse the truck has no issues then put it in drive and by the time it shifts to second I’m getting a multiple misfires code. I have a great scan tool and that’s all it’s telling me. Also if you turn on the truck and rev it up to about 2500 rpm’s same thing happens, engine light flashes multiple misfires… and you can feel it.

I’ve tried with the cats on and off, replaced all the plugs and coils and injectors, and did a fuel pressure test and compression test. I double checked timing I double checked all the pushrods are on.
I tuned the truck with Diablo sport i3 . I’m thinking maybe the tune didn’t take?? Or these cheap parts are junk…. It seems like a mechanical issue. I can also hear what sounds like loud lifter noise on the passenger side, but what the hell is causing this multiple misfire. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Have a look at misfire counters, and see which cylinders seem to be the issue. If they are the ones that MDS normally shuts down...... you have your answer.

I can’t see that for whatever reason on this dodge. But I can see the mds system is not active so it’s gotta be these new lifters or the new cam

So this is an area where (and I cannot stress this enough) you truly get what you pay for. You already figured out your first mistake. You can manually activate MDS solenoids when static but the lifters won't collapse unless all required conditions are met running down the road. I've seen where the chinesium lifters don't actually function properly, MDS or not, which would explain all the misfires as rpm climbs. Any timing issues will only further compound the problem. Save your pennies, get a quality kit or buy a factory 5.7 2500 cam and new non-MDS Lifters and try again.
Since you posted in 4th gen and were able to tune with an I3 I will assume you have an 09-14. You went with an MDS delete setup, so what I would do is order this cam with whatever necessary options added to it; this gets you quality parts and little more pep that doesn't absolutely require tuning but will benefit from it: https://www.modernmusclextreme.com/p...ds-by-mmx.aspx
