Default New member with a 2023 Ram.

Has anyone had any problems with their 2023 1500 3.6 V6 motor? I recently had an issue with mine where they just put a new motor in my truck. And even though I still have the issue they tell me I need to change the way I start my truck. Even though I still start it the same way I have since I bought it last October until January when the problem started. I say there's still a problem.

When I start the truck for the first time of the day or after sitting for 5 hours or more. When I put it in drive and step on the gas it bucks wildly. And it doesn't matter if it's 0 degrees or 70. It's that first time start. They're telling me I have to drive differently. Never had the problem from when I bought it in October until the end of January. Then they change some lifters in it and it still does it. They put a new crate motor in it and now apparently it only happens to me.

That is basically saying "We don't have a clue, therefore, we are going to blame it on you."

I would suggest to them that the truck is still under warranty, this is a problem, and they need to fix it, or, give you a new truck. Mention your lawyer if necessary. (whether you have one or not.)

Did that. They said if there is no code then nothing is wrong with it. I even opened up a claim, but so far the claim manager only contacted the service manager. I will be calling him Monday morning for sure.

Then you need to find a dealership with techs that actually know what they are doing. No small order that.....

I should have mentioned when they put the new motor in my truck it only had 1660 miles on it.

When it first started after a few times the check engine light came on. I took in on a Monday and the said it was showing multiple misfires on 4 and 6. After over a week later they decided to put new lifters in the left bank only. Even after mentioning that the oil had metal particulates they tried to tell me they changed the oil, they did not. They called me to say it was ready and after test driving it, it still did the same thing. I refused to take the truck. I told the service guy I would come back the next morning and we go together for a ride. In the meantime he called me later the night and told me not to bother coming in, that he moved my truck and it acted up on him. The following Tuesday he called and said they're putting a new motor in it.

Is it the same behavior now, as it was then? (minus the codes?)
