That's typically pretty hard when you are underwater for months at a time.

After reading all these posts, I'll tell ya my 318 4x4 Dakota will smoke
my 360 4x4 Ram going down the road.
But put a trailer on both pulling my mustang, if I'm in the Dakota, I always
ask myself why didn't I take the Ram instead. With 260.000 on the 360 and
156,000 on the Dakota, the Ram pulls way harder up the hills and taking off
from the light. (Both trucks are bone-stock except the air-filters on them).
And by-the-way,.. Nothing wrong with 2-wheel drive trucks,.. Just don't get
caught in the snow driving one.

The Dakotas, IIRC, also weight a couple hundred pounds less than our Rams.

you guys are funny, keep defending your 318's thats fine, and to the retard who says i dont use my truck, i own a landscaping business, and pull trailers every single day, my landscape trailer weighes just over 5k loaded, my bobcat skidsteer and trailer weigh over 8k loaded, my john deere tractor and trailer weigh 7k loaded, and my 32 foot camper loaded weighes just about 10k, so trust me i work my trucks to the bone. and trust me when i say the ****ty 1500 i had wont do 1/4 of the work

not to mention i plow commercially with my truck every single storm, and it has yet to give me any problems, thats sitting in the truck plowing for 18-20 hours straight, id like to see a 1500 pull that off.

Im not totaly dissing the 1500's but it is compairing apples to oranges, the 1500 is a glorified dakota, its weak, and cant be used for work day in and day out, the 2500 is a work truck and holds up better. but whatever believe what you want.

He's completely clueless. I don't think he realizes that 1500's and 2500 have pretty much all the same parts. Oh well, rednecks will be rednecks.

OP, good luck selling anything with an attitude like that.

And I can tell you that the difference between your 3/4 ton being able to handle that, and my half ton not being able to handle that is partly because the half ton will squat so much with that stuff loaded on, not so much because its to much for the engine. Now my half ton, with its add a leafs and airbags on it, can probably hold just as much weight as your 3/4 ton can now, and guess what, it will easily pull it too. I have hauled trailers that weigh that much before, my best pal is an excavator and while his truck was in the shop I had to haul his his tractor to 3 of his jobsites for him, and guess what, my truck did just fine. If you think the weight that you haul makes it so necessary that you need the 3/4 ton and the bigger engine, and that the smaller truck with the smaller engine CANT do it, then you are the real idiot in this situation.

All I really need to do to make my truck the exact same truck as yours with just a little less than 10 hp difference, is throw the new gears in there, so before you start making it out like your truck is so special and so much better, research and find out that they really are about the same, so by calling my truck sh** and all these other half tons sh** with the 318s you are calling yours exactly that, sh**.

far from it kid, your little 1/2 ton is half the truck, almost EVERY part on it is SMALLER, from the brakes(front and rear), to the driveshaft, to the 5 lug axels, to the cooling system, the rad on the 1500 is half the size of the 2500,not to mention the lack of a trans cooler, the springs are smaller on the front, and the leaf springs in the back are about half, to the payload, not to mention the frame on a 2500 is physically beefier then a 1500, so althoe you may PRETEND your 1500 is basically the same as the 2500 you are totaly wrong. good try tho. please stop pretending the 1500 is equil, your making yourself look dumb.
