Default Started my first fiberglass project.

I purchased a boston g5 sub and it is just to big to fit into any prefabbed box so I decided to make my own. Its not finished yet obviosly but I will keep updating. I have changed the amp tray a bit because I think what I had will look bad, I basically just added in a 1/4" piece of plywood to the front of it to square it up a bit. I think this will make it look better as well as making finished easier. I have gone through hell with this the amp due to low clearance under the seat but finally got it to work where the seat will just touch the top the back side.

I love it, I took today and yesterday off hoping to have some time to work on this thing and have only donea layer of glass and put some chopped strands (or whatever they call it) in the inside to beef up the joint where the top and bottom meet.. I dont need a grill for it, it touches the bottom of the seat but its just hangning fabric for probably 3 inches or so. I am only putting 500w rms to it, its only rated at 450 so this should suffice. Not saying it cant handle more, just that I think I am feeding sufficient power.

Oh yeah 500 is plenty..
We tend to do the G^12 With The GTR12 (Passive Radiator)
With a 1000W they last about 8mo but they have a 2year warranty

Please Keep us posted
Thanks Troy

Aside from some internal beefing up the outside is done as far as glassing goes. I am very happy with how it is turning out. I need to smooth out the front contour where it meets the carpet and will bondo some trouble spots now to prevent too much trouble later. I plan on milkshaking it in a few days (resin/bondo mix). Here is a pic after some sanding tonight.
