Got a call on my cell today. It was the owner of a newstereo shopbeing builtin my home town. He basically said "We're opening a new shop in the area, and we want to know if you'd like to run it" !!!!

I can't believe somone actually came looking for me to run their shop. Very flattering.And definatly a little intimidating. It would be a dream come true to run my own install shop. I have a meeting with him next Tuesday! I still can't believe it!

Not sure exactly. I'll ask him when I talk to him tomorrow. I mean it IS in my home town, it's not an overly large town, and most people know me, and you can't miss my bright yellow truck, so I'm sure he just asked around and got my number.Or somone that works for him knows me. It wouldnt be very hard.

$$$$... And I wouldnt know where to get started. I actually had some money saved up a few years back to start one up, and even had a great location, but it just kinda fell through. I had doubts about the area, didn't know how to get started, and it just seemed like a big risk, but I always kinda wish I had done it. I guess I'd rather have the full weight on somone elses shoulders for the time being. Car audio in general has decreased in the last few years quite a bit, so the risk of starting a new shop right now, is very high.

I guess the ideal situation for me would be to take over an already established shop someday. If I had more money and could afford the risk I would start one immediatly, but... I dont.
