Default no sound, new amp

Just got around to hooking up my amp, but now i get absolutely no sound.
nothing from the amp and nothing from the stock speakers.
worked fine when i ran a test, didn't change a thing.
the only thing I can see is that i screwed up and ripped the surround of my sub [:@] and tested it again ( still worked though...)
All my connections are good, I re-did each one just to be sure

Please help, I need the radio to control my road rage

Is the amp turning on? In protection?

what kind of amp also if there is no light coming on at all, for instance green for good red for protection... check your remote wire to see if you might have fried it or it came unplugged somewhere... I did that once and went through a frenzy trying to figure out what it was...
Easiest way is just to touch the remote wire to the power/batt on your amp to see if it powers up... if that does not work check your ground and make sure that you have a good connection there... scrape away any paint and i use petroleum jelly underneath it to really get a good connection. Also check your fuse to your amp under the hood... make sure its not blown.

Finally if that yields no positive results i would consult a local dealer to bench test your amp. usually costs between $10 - $20

Oh ok... i was going to say what kinda HU is this... Stock? Because even if it does sense the amp all you have to do is just rewire your remote wire to the Ignition or something that turns on with the truck... like a fuel pump fuse... hehe never mind that...

Shuts off power to the speakers when it senses an amp?? 1: How would it sense an amp. 2: Why would it do this. Never heard of this. Is it the factory headunit??

Explain please. lol

I think this is if and only if there is a factory amp attatched... I still dont even know if that is possible... but in any case isolate ur remote to the Ignition wire or Acc line in the HU or The Ignition fuse in the panel

Umm...no? lol I've never heard of this. If it's the factory radio, it will not shut off sound. Even with afactory amplifier. The factory amp uses high-level inputs from the headunit, the headunit on the amplified Infinity system is no different than the regular system, if the speaker wires lost output, the factory amp would not have any input signal to amplify. And there is no way it would "know" an amplifier was hooked up to it.

well, it's the only thing i can think, it's an aftermarket HU, and I still don't have power to the speakers. and they worked fine until i hooked it up

what else would cause this? what can i do to find out?

EDIT: the speakers are not hooked to the amp. I decided to let my 220watt HU continue handling two 5" speakers

Alright, have you tried hooking the speakers directly to the headunit? Right behind the headunit? How are you hooking the amp to the headunit? Does it have RCA outputs? Or are you using a Line-out converter. What exactly did you "unhook" for the amp that made them start working.

Explain a little more for us.
