reverse facing subs??
^^^ Makes no difference other than asthetic appeal, increased Enclosure room... which is only like .3 to .7cuft at the most, and a really nice chance of having somethign get caught between the cone and the spider
Other than that no difference... I believe you have to run in polar opposites though when u invert... I might be wrong about that though???

Not even close... My TIs were huge subs and had a displacement of .17....a shock sig, which is the biggest motor I have ever seen would probally take up close to .3

Yeah .7 is outrageous, maybe if you had a HUGE sub, and wrapped it in plastic so there was no wasted airspace between the motor structures (Spider, cone, Pole/Vent) then the entire assembly might take up close to that. But a sub has a lot of empty airspace in it. Even if it looks huge, there isn't a whole lot of mass there.
You are correct i just asked him what the displacement was and he said on the 18" that it was .48 so i was completely off. I thought it was bigger though... But still its a rediculous sub.. 6kw for 10mins strait is pretty durn nuts to me... Im not crazy SPL like he is but he def has a couple screws loose
So when you reverse the polarity on the subs, do you just switch the + and - on the speaker terminal on the amp, or do you have to switch the connections on the sub?
I have 2 10" Kicker L5's. They have dual voice coils, and I have a seperate amp going to each one.
should I just switch the + and - at the amp?
---> this is how I have each one wired.
