you hook rem turn on from the head unit to rem turn on of the metra harness and power antenna to power antenna. or if you have a pioneer radio which only has rem turn on. no power antenna on newer pioneers all done through a single blue wire. if that is the case you will hook both rem turn on and power antenna of the metra harness to that single wire and it should then work.

it is possible that you do need that specialty harness but i'd be surprised.

hey habe. i know why you and me were having disagreements. new pioneer radios only have a blue wire for rem turn on and power antenna all the same. I never thought of it until i was wiring up a sony and saw both and went... oooo yeaaa pioneers different lol.

On new pioneers it is one blue/white wire.

odd. is there a wire on the harness you purchased for the vehicle that is for amp remote turn on? if so hook that up to the remote turn on of your new head unit. IDK man i've never had any issues with the amp not powering up for these trucks. you may need the expensive harness but this would be the first time i've ever seen one need it. just did an 07 the other day with infinity used the standard harness. had to run for the switched accessory but still amp powered right up.
