2008 2500 mega cab infinity system
ok, tired of looking and asking, just trying to put an after market radio and a pair of subs and an amp. ok so i talked to this guy at car toys and he sold me the wiring harness i need and said it would work so i installed it, left out the wires that was there that i didnt hook up to my radio, the radio turned on, but nothing from the speakers, everything is hooked up right, so of course i thinking that its the wrong one, and then im thinking that i need to get some power to the factory amp.
so what do i do? ha
so what do i do? ha
yeah thats what i was thinking but what do i hook it up to? which one is it on the truck side of it, i have like one or 2 extra ones that im not using, the illumination and i cant member the other other one but yeah im sure those would work if i knew where to put them right?
and to the other guy lol, yeah who makes it? im using the Access interface xsvi 6502, cost me a 100 bucks from car toys

CHT01 is amp integrate as well as the 12v switching. you could get the CHT01 but you'll be ok.
the metra harness should have a blue wire. hook the blue of your radio up the the blue of that. and then that's all ya gotta do and it should work
you don't need the cht01. you could get it it will be easier on the factory infinity amp but most of what messes up the factory amps is if you put new speakers in it. the infinity systems run at 2 ohms. at least the ones i have dealt with had 2 ohm speakers in it. throw in aftermarkets which are 9 times out of 10 4 ohm you kinda make the amp go derrrrrr.

raising ohms while technically you would think isn't that bad because it lowers the amount of work the amp has to do still ends up cooking the amp down the road. factory amps are not like aftermarkets they are meant to run at a certain resistance and that is it. when you lower the resistance it usually results in immediate problems. raising tends to cause problems down the road. most cars we've ever put speakers in after warning customers will come back maybe six months later with a toasted amp.
maybe that's how this truck is but we've done installs on third gen rams and newer chryslers day in day out and never use that harness and never have problems. a few people have installed h/u in third gen rams with infinity without any problems using a plain old 706502 and running their accessory or xsvi6502 and not having to run acc.
and idk what radios you're talking about but all the ones I use, pioneer, eclipse, alpine the blue wire is remote turn on and blue/white is power antenna. the wiring harnesses for the car ie the xsvi6502 will have both a rem turn on and power antenna. most people will make the mistake of not hooking up rem turn on just power antenna thinking it is not needed since rem turn on is usually thought of for aftermarket amps. then when they play am/fm the amp turns on but they put in a cd and nothing happens.
never know he may need the harness but it'll be the first chrysler vehicle i've seen that actually needs the specialty harness for amp integrate.

If you dont even know what the correct wire is for the remote turn on lead I dont even know what to say to you. Maybe you should read the manual and see its blue/white. Raising your impedance from 2 ohm to 4 ohm is not going to cook an amp. More than likely they are cranking the eq and the volume to make up for only getting half the power and clipping the amp and cooking it.
*Ill be fair if there is only one "turn on" wire it can be blue sometimes..but if there is a blue and a blue/white, blue white is the turn on*

you can sit here and argue all day buddy but what it comes down to is that i've done countless installs in these vehicles and never and i mean never had to use that harness to install in a infinity system. just make sure to hook up rem turn on as well as power antenna and tada. as well as idk how many people on the third gen ram forum have as well and have any of them used the CHT01............ nope. now could we all be imagining that our radios just don't work anyway and we are just halucinating or what? you tell me.
and if YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND that factory amplifiers are a totally different animal then an aftermarket then I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY TO YOU.
