just because the buttons are there does not mean you have uconnect, check your window sticker, if not on there you dont have it.

So you can actually talk through your radio when the calls come in? or does the radio pretty much just act like a caller ID for you?

You can have a radio with the buttons but not have UConnect. Uconnect is a module that plugs into the back of the radio. Then there will be a mic that you would run somewhere near your visor/center console or something.

You say that you installed this yourself, did it have the UConnect module and mic with it?

My thought now is...are you sure that the Button you are pressing is working? Did you buy this new or used? I imagine it is the button on the Mirror, or do you have the little rectangular module? In any case, I think that maybe the button you are pressing is broken OR the wire that you have running to it and your radio is not all the way plugged in.

If you are adding a chrysler uconnect module to a chrysler factory "u-connect ready" radio you will need to take the vehicle to a dealership and have the system activated.
