Default My Double Din conversion.. pics

First of all, the unit I bought was the Kenwood DNX-5140 with Garmin Navigation, CD, DVD, Ipod-ready options. Would STRONGLY recommend this HU.

Here it is brand new.

First Step was to cut away some excess plastic inside to be able to fit the HU in. I only had to cut the piece off of the top.

The Cd player now fits in the hole, and I made up some brackets with some of the stuff that came with the HU.

Next, I made up all of the wires behind the deck. While I had everything apart I ran a 4AWG power wire, a set of RCA's, and a remote turn on wire under the drivers seat for when I get my amp and subs. This next picture is where I mounted the sensor for the Garmin GPS to work. I put it right over that speaker hole since I dont have the Infinity Sound anyway.

Here she is all hooked up, playing a track from my Ipod.

I didnt feel like doing anymore today, so Im gonna finish cutting, fitting, bondoing, sanding, and painting the bezel tomorrow. Ill keep updated with more pics.

good job so far man. i think ive seen a few guys mount the gps antenae under the center hole. shouldnt make too much of a difference in reception, and stays out of sight.

On the back of this HU there is a wire that you can use so that your steering wheel controls will still be functional.

And no I dont have any pics of it finished, because thats all the father i was able to get today. Ill post the step-by-steps and the finished product tomorrow.
