I have a powerpack behind my alpine deck its the alpine powerpack though an it works wonders. It makes the door speakers sound clear to, An the subs are tad louder works for me it was a really good little investment that gives you the little umph your looking for with yours subs an speakers.. But I know there are some other companies that make them universal for other head units not just alpine. Stinger has something like that my friend used with his pos JVC HU

is yours sealed or ported? I need sealed. The P3's prefer it.

Just a little update. For those that know me other than AF_Hemi (names Aaron, pilot8604 on yahoo or AIM), you know that I dont like to spill my mods until they're installed. But this sound system has me pumped.

I've done a tremendous amount of research on sub boxes and sound deadening materials. Read all kinds of reviews, how-to's, etc. All the speakers, subs, wiring, and amps, are purchased and on their way (some have already arrived). Last night I ordered the sound deadening from Rick at RAAMaudio. I'll spend this post talking about Raamat.

RAAMaudio was started several years ago by Rick, who was doing a custom $20k build in his Tacoma. He didnt want to pay the price tag for dynamat and thought he could do better, so he made his own deadener. The system ended up winning him multiple world championships. Over the years he has perfected his product, and his only form of advertisement is word of mouth via internet forums. He is a one man shop, and stays very busy because the stuff is so popular with the audiophiles.

Second Skin audio is another option that probably has the best reputation in the business. They do a lot of advertising to get the word out and in the end have very satisfied customers. The price is a little lower than Dynamat, but the quality of the product is far superior. SSA has set the standard in the sound deadening world.

Rick at Raamaudio decided to up his game a bit and come out with a better product, which was released last year. Its called BXT II (original stuff is BXT). It is the only product out there that can top Second Skins Damplifier Pro. The best part? Its half the cost!

I paid just over $200 for enough sound deadener to cover the doors, back wall, and floor pan. Deadening the roof is a ton of work for very minimal gains unless you're running SERIOUS bass (4 12's or better). I got BXT II for the doors and back wall, and BXT for the floor as well as their closed cell foam matting that will go over it. Whereas the BXT deadens vibrations, the closed cell foam cancels out road noise, and tire/exhaust drone.

Sorry for the long post, but if anyone is looking for the best quality stuff on the market (as rated by the toughest critics in the audio world with never a bad review) and doesnt want to spend an arm and a leg, look to Rick at www.raamaudio.com.

This build is gonna take several days, but i'll be taking lots of pictures along the way. If anyone is interested, once the old system is out, i'll be selling it in a complete package (speakers, sub, box, amp, all wiring, fuses, etc. the COMPLETE system)

I also will be looking into this RAAMaudio because I really need some deadner. I didnt read the whole thread but what did you end up getting? I made my own boxes and have about 1.0 cubic feet per box, both are sealed, and i have two kicker cvr 2-ohm 12"s paired with a monoblock hifonics brutus 1200 watt rms amp (at 1-ohm) wired to 2-ohms so I have 450w rms going to each sub and they both call for 400w rms a peice. I have not put in any polyfill or anything inside the boxes and the subs sound great. I'm thinking about filling it with some polyfill but just could never figure out how to keep the polyfill from touching the magnets of the subs. I have not tested them with a meter but my buddys single 15" hits at 140 db and mine is a bit quieter than his. Let me know how your build goes. I always love it when people make their own boxes. They sound so much better (when done properly) than the prefab boxes and they typically last a lot longer.
