Default ipod in my 2004 Ram

I have a 2004 Ram with the stock in dash 6 disk cd player and steering wheel controls.. I want to keep the stock deck because I love the steering wheel controls, but I want to be able to hook up an ipod to my stock deck. There are no aux plugs on the stock deck. I dont want one of those FM doohickys. Has anyone found anything that works and sound good?

Thanks
Hessmonster

The NEO unit is slick, and retains factory steering wheel controls, but you need to give up your 6 disk changer.
(this is not a deal breaker IMHO, the iPod can easilly store your music on those six cd's.

I like the idea of the iPod plus one aux input.
Then I can connect the portable DVD player to the stereo for the kids to watch movies and hear them over the factory system

Well thanks to guys, I have ordered the USA-Spec unit, it wasn't available locally in Canada, so I put my order in on-line at crutchfield.ca

The unfortunate part is it was 167.99, but it will do everything I need, plus the new firmware will (supposedly) show track/artist data on the OEM HU.

Now, since it would seem important to me to maintain OEM appearance of my dashboard, has anyone installed a LOC and amplifier in an OEM HU?

(I think this is going to cost me a few bucks.)

That's a good looking installation in that link - I intend to use my dashboard blank for the same purpose.

But, since the USA-Spec unit I ordered will allow tandem inputs, I need to find out if a cradle for the iPod or a dongle is the better alternative.

Ok - installed the USA-Spec i-Pod adapter today, along with some help from my 11 year old son. I really like the way it works.
I ran the dongle to the hole where the steering column comes from, and now I'm looking for a cradle.
I bought the interface so my kids could plug their iPod Touch's in and we could all listen, but now I'm thinking I like the Nano better - I'm more into the music, plus I can get a black Nano which might look a shade better in the black interior (i'm grasping at straws here....)

What are you guys using for mp3 player cradles? and is there one that can support a Nano as well as a iPod Touch? I'd like to mount it to the left of the OEM radio bezel if I could.
