Default Subwoofer Box

Has anyone built a box that fits in the front part of truck bed on a 2001 Dakota, I could use the specs.

Your planning on cutting up a 2001 dakota!?!?!? Is it regular or extended cab? I used to have an ext cab and it had plenty of space to work with inside.

Well unless you plan on listening to the stereo outside the car, it would be a waste of time, no sound inside. I think mtx makes a couple of box/sub combos......
Heres the one amplified

Heres the same one non amplified.

You could definently get them cheaper.

See thats the problem, i would get one of those boxes but. . . Im not getting rid of my seats, for a subwoofer! getting one of these boxes would defy the purpose of having a back seat!

That box allows you to retain the back seats, you just cant flip the BOTTOM of the seat up. Other than that the seats would retain normal functionality- 3 people in back.

Im looking at the picture of the box and the back of the seat is GONE. Im going to email MTX and see if The seat will still have the back on it, after installing the box.

They probably took it out for pictures, go to the MTX site and download the manual for that box, it pretty much explains it.

ok, one last question. How bad do you think the sound would be f if did this. I plan on getting two 12" Blaupunkt clear subs, they have a 200 watt RMS, and 1 Blaupunkt amp 4 x 100W RMS or 2 x 300W RMS @ 0.1% THD

so for a little more than the box u showed me I could have a fully customized set up.

eh, blaupunkt, never liked them much myself. If you want to go custom i would get an alpine type e or s and an alpine amp, you'll be in the same price range with much better sound imo. The mtx is still a good choice, as it might be tricky to track down a box that will fit. I know many people with mtx subs that are very satisfied. Personally, I prefer alpine (big surprise lol), great sound quality and have not necisarilley gone down in quality like some other mainstream manufacturers. Right now i have a pair of alpine swr-1242 subs in a pair of ported boxes i built myself, and I couldn't be any more satisfied (well maybe lol).

Heres a nice 12

This amp would put the rms to that sub, and leave you room to upgrade down the road. (you would only be running at 4 ohms, 250 rms)
