2008 GC SXT - REN head unit - can I get iPod/iPhone controls?
I've searched a lot for this and have seen a lot of conflicting information.
My Grand Caravan came with Uconnect/bluetooth built-in. I want to add the iPod controls instead of using the headphone jack to aux input on the front of the radio. I bought the 82212000 cable at the suggestion of the guy at parts. Someone in service helped me install it into the UConnect module under and to the left of the steering column. The cable plugged in fine but it did not work.
The service guy suggested that perhaps the firmware for the REN and UConnect need to be updated. I also read somewhere that you need them to use the StarScan (?) tool on it. I'm going to take it back tomorrow to see if they can get it working.
I've read that this only works with 2009+ models, but the REN instruction manual has info on how to control the iPod from the headunit. Is there a different cable I should have bought?
