Default 2004 1500 double din with infinity system

Hello,
I am still confused as to what I need to install an aftermarket double din to be used with the factory Infinity system on my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 manufactured 4-04. I have the bezel all ready to go from weedahoe. I have read quite a bit in the forums and on the internet and still not 100% sure. I have read about this ebay harness:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/330511177394?...84.m1438.l2649

But have read that it may not work and would need a Metra CHTO-02 kit but have read that they distort your audio.

I don't really want to run new speaker wire to all doors.

If anybody out there with a 2004 has installed an aftermarked unit with the Infinity or if there is any tech guys let me know what you think.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Try a regular run of the mill wiring harness first. Mine was 03/04 and it worked without the need for any interface crap. Worst case, you're out the $15 for the harness. Best case it works just fine like mine did.

Mine feeds speaker-level audio into a standard Dodge wiring adapter and it works great. This is an 03 w/ Infinity sound. My stock amp & speakers will really crank since my head unit has a crossover function that lets me cut all bass on those outputs. Then RCAs feed a separate sub amp and it all sounds surprisingly good.

Well I tried the ebay harness last night and have no sound, so I guess I will have to order the Metra CTHO-02 interface.

Ok before you order the harness I believe when I installed my stereo I had to run two wires from stereo to one wire on harness, I had to put the power wire and the antenna wire together and then wire it to the power wire coming from the harness before I would get sound

I tried that Ellis and no go, where the power antenna wire is on the harness where it matches on the oem plug there is no wire in that slot on my factory wiring.

No where the wires from the harness connect to stock wires from truck is were you connect both the power antenna and power wire coming out from harness to power wire from the truck itself
