ok, i need an amp or a bridged pair of amps for a pair of 12' rockford fostgate subs. subs are rated for 8 ohms? and 400 watts. has the 1.5 inch voice coil. i also have a 1/2 farad cap. but i just need to figure out an amp solution. anyideas on which amp. also how high of a difference can i have in the ohm ratings before its threatening to the hu or the amp or sub?

 

I doubt it is 8 ohms. It is either 2 or 4 ohms. I am very partial to the infinity amps. Check this one out if you do have the 4 ohm. It is rated 426 Wrms at 4 ohms.

First sell the rockfords and buy JLs or something. Then get a memphis amp like the 600d

 

i say you buy the first amp i told you about in the pm i just sent, screw the other amp. Use that one & it will pound.

 

yeah, the problem is im short on cash, i might try to talk to a guy i know and see wut he has, when i find out ill throw sum of those choices on there too
yeah the thign with the ohms is weird, i thought about it and 8 didnt seem right either, but i have a pic, and im almost positive thats 8 on the speaker cone. so yeah.. hm its a rockfordfosgate 12' punch series, if u wana look, they actually do have 8 ohm subs. but as for amp? yeah. lil confused, im also used to 4 ohms lol 8 is a lota resistance..
