stock reciever

Default stock reciever

how do i remove the stock stereo reciever from the dash of 3rd gen ram? i dont want to replace it but i want to hook up an amp to it, these stereos arent very loud.

You dont have to take the radio out to hook an amp up. Jst use a line out converter such as this hooked up to the speaker leads. Then jst hook the amp turn-on to a switching 12-volt. No need to take the radio out.

i also want to hook up a 12 from my old truck, could i hook up the line out conv. to my rear channels, run RCA from there to the amp, spkr. wire from the amp to subs? i have a 2-channel rock-fosg. sub amp. and what about the remote wire?

Yes that is exactly how I would do it. The remote wire can jst be any wire that sends 12 volts when the key is turned on.

I think you'll be disappointed in the stock speakers if you put more power to them. Get some speakers too, even low end models will sound much better than stock.

i'm looking to just adding an amp too...

i want to keep my factory head unit(i have an 05 dakota with the basic cd/radio)- 4 speakers

i'm not looking into having the best sound around but i want something better that stock.. someting that doesnt sound too crappy when i turn up the volume.

any reccommendations on a good/cheap amp to use?


also looking to get these shallow mounts...

i used to do a lil music production/engineering....i gotta say... car audio to me is more confusing
