2006 ram hu install question.

Default 2006 ram hu install question.

Hey guys need some help took out my h/u from my 02 ram and put it in the 06 and i get no power to unit at all. Checked h/u made sure no blown fuse or electric shock and it still wokring fine. get security light on h/u but no power to turn radio on, Hooked all wires to wiring adaptor acc to acc, bat to bat and gnd to gnd but nothign any ideas??

There is no acc (switched power) behind the radio in an 06. It's Can-Bus. You need to run a wire from the new headunit to the fuse panel or ignition column and get a switched 12V source there.

had one more question, With it needing a switchable source could i splice the ignition and acc wire and run it off the red wire from the wiring kit vs running another wire?
