RE: spypic of a 2006 charger prototype!
No, I didn't post those pics - I just found them while scouring the internet for 2006 Charger information. Like I said, I can't vouch for them, but they look real, or at least plausible, as "spy photos".
The car in those spy pics looks, to me, very much like the C&D images. But until DCX makes some kind of official announcement, no one can be sure if that's *the* Charger or not. Personally, I was hoping the new Charger would be more of a jaw-dropper than that, but we'll have to wait and see what the real thing looks like. And images can be deceiving, so maybe the spied car looks decent in person.
I was hoping for at least a more retro front-end on the new Charger. Ford managed to put a sweet retro front-end on their new Mustang GT or whatever, so why not the Charger? And the trademark recessed/tunnelback rear window of the Charger would be nice too... but maybe "the market" demands something less retro (unfortunately).
Thanks for the welcome.
And again, I am not the one that posted those pics, but I think this guy did. (I figured this out by looking at the spy pic image location)

For all we know this could be the replacement for the Stratus since the Stratus is supposed to growing in size and share the platform with the Mitsubishi Galant. The pictures of the Charger in some of the magazines have a few Galant hints [rear section, headlights etc...]

Could be, they look similar... but the guy that posted the new stratus pics, is the same guy that posted the charger pics. He apparently got a lot closer to the "stratus" than he did the "charger", so it's difficult to make an exact comparison between the two pictures. And I wouldn't think he'd post pics of the same car, once calling it Charger and then calling it Stratus in another post, but who knows for sure.
In any case, I hope that ISN'T the new Charger, because its appearance definitely doesn't say Charger. But it *does* look very much like the C&D image, if that means anything. I'm still hoping for a true retro body style though.

definatly not the new stratus, that picture above doesn't look like the stratus spyshots, well aside from fact that it's a 4 door anyways, the body lines are different, the nose is completely different and the rear door window is also completely different.

One thing is, Dodge likes to put the chassis of one car with a bod of another. That entire body could be nothing more than just to see what kind of buzz would come of it or to take attention away from something else. Dodge has kept the charger from being spotted this long, I seem it highly unlikely that pics of this sort would pop up. BUT! I was in MI for a wedding last year and went to the muesum and took a drive around the massive headquarters. They had a new Durango sitting out back in plain sight for everyone to see...sorta before they showed it to the public. Also They had a couple in their test track, and also an awd PT was sitting in the infield. You could definitly tell there was a height difference. There were fences in the way off all cars. No clean shot unless you drive in the lot, but I dont think security would of let me do that.
