Wow, the 0-60 mph time and the 1/4 mile time are bothalmost a second slower than the Neon SRT-4.........

Yeah, they traditionally rate the HP a little low to save consumers on the insurance.....but those performance figures aren't what I expected no matter what they rated the HP at...........

^^Thats because it weighs quite a bit more then the Neon SRT-4...overall, the Caliber SRT-4 looks much better then a standard Caliber, but I still dont like the overall look of it, or the performance decrease...

The only thing I would like better about the Caliber SRT-4 compared to the Neon SRT-4 is the Caliber has the 6-speed manual and the possibility for swapping in AWD, while the Neon SRT-4 has neither. But thats the only plus for the Caliber that I see...

 

Yeah, looking at it you can see that it hasn't been on SlimFast. And the aerodynamics leave a lot to be desired. If I was after an AWD, I wouldn't consider putting all the extra $$ in something like this, better to buy one engineered from the start to be AWD. Maybe Dodge will improve the2nd year version like they did with the Neon SRT-4.

One thing I was suprised about was that there is no LSD like the newer neon SRT-4s. That probably would have made a difference in the times it put down.

 

Are you sure? I didn't hear that. A LSDwould make a small difference in ET's but not enough to catch a Neon SRT-4 '04/'05 model that has it. (The 03 SRT-4didn't come with the Quaife LSD which makes launches a bit easier and blasting out of turns a lot easier). It addsabout $1,000 to the price of the car, but the Neon SRT-4 really needed it.

Im pretty sure the Caliber SRT has an open diff., although I could be wrong...


I may just have to sneak another peek at the SRT-4 in the bump shop.

Im suprised at some of the cars that come through... so far in the month that I have worked at this dealer I have seen 4 vipers, 3 SRT magnums, 5 SRT chargers, an SRT 6, 3 SRT-4 calibers, and a new 2008 dakota.

sad part is im not allowed to drive any of them...I have points on my license, and the insurance doesnt cover me...

 

I have been driving a sxt for the past week. (My truck has a short in it somewhere.) After driving this tin can for a week its safe to say I would never buy one of these things. SRT or not. I think my 02 neon was a better built car than this trash can is. I'm still hoping they are going to green light the srt avenger. Natedogg is the sterile whites dodge in the pics?
