I wouldnt be caught dead in a 300c, Evo or any other 4 door sedan. Id look like a total asshat in something like that. Unless I can buy what I want, I wont buy and thats that.

 

thats odd, seeing as how dodge stated at the mopar nationals that production wouldnt be ready until something like april. this is how bad rumors get started...there isnt even a 7.0L engine mentioned by dodge, anywhere..and the "rumored" engine is only a 6.4L.

ask "your dads friend" for the contact information of whoever told him that, and I will call them myself and ask them about it. we know several sales managers of local dodge dealerships who would LOVE any sort of real information on the challenger, but none is being offered.

alright, i talked with my dad and this is what i know...

the man who preordered one is a Teamster and is pretty high up with union workers, he had talked to a representative from Chrysler that said he could preorder one so he did, which required a 1000 dollar deposit fee.a few weeks ago, he got a phone call (dont know the number or anything, sorry) saying that his Challenger would be one of the first 500 and would be a special edition, and that it would be ready for him to pick up in Detroit in February.it was the man's wife that told my dad she thought the engine was something like 7.0 liters, but she didnt know for sure.

 

The only 7 liter engine I know of is the 426... [&:]Doubt that's going in there.[/align][/align]There's a rumored 6.6L but no proof I've seen.[/align]

 

ive not seen any proof of anything except for the 6.4L...and that has only been a crate motor.

Ive got a '86 chevy celebrity........................No, J/K I just paid of my '00 TJ sport a few months back, which I plan on keeping. Id like to swap a v-8 of some kind into it after I make a few other mods such as a soft halftop, ansen sprint wheels, and possibly a ford 8.8 in the rear.

I figure at the rate my current job is going, I can possibly afford a challenger once it comes out, but id be limited to the 5.7 which is just fine so long as its got a manual. and a pistol grip shifter. If the wait's going to be too long or they dont offer that combo initially Ill just wait and score one used. Thing is, this car is the car Ive always wanted--as opposed to trucks, jeeps, and 4x4s. The Mustang had my attention when they re-did it in '05 but Im a Mopar guy at heart so challenger wins.
