i dont know why everyone gets worked up over 3.92s...those are like highway gears as far as im concerned...they need to offer a 4.10 or bigger for those who are actually going to drive the car the way that it is meant to be driven.

In my opinion, it is a waste of an extra ratio to have them placed too closely together without being able to better utilize both the fuel efficieny and slightly acceleration advantages over the 5-speed.
dakota2112, you have to remember that there are other factors in this equation besides just the axle ratio. If it gets the exact same gear ratios as the Viper version, then it will infact be worse than the 5-speed 3.07-3.06 offering found in the Charger, due to the fact of the excessively tall first gear ratio found in that version of the Tremec vs. the first gear found in the Charger's automatic.

As for a 'Cuda, someone asked about it during a chat session w/ SRT engineers and their response essentially went something like "don't get your hopes up". I don't know if that response was specifically in reference to the 'Cuda pictured in this thread, or if it was in reference to the possibility of a 'Cuda in general... but look at it this way: Chrysler ponied up the Challenger partially in response to the uproar over the Charger sedan, so why are we already demanding a 'Cuda resurrection? I personally liked the early 70s Cuda w/ sharktooth grille and smoother bodymuch better than the Challenger, but I'd say one variant is enough for now. Even if they do offer a rebadged Challenger w/ special trim and goodies as a 'Cuda, it would utilize the same platform and would really be more-or-less the same car. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, but I just don't understand this anticipation and expectation of a 'Cuda so soon. If they domake a 'Cuda bodystyle option, great! But if not, the Challenger is mighty fine as-is.

I love this but IMHO, theres just not enough to separate it from the Chally. I wouldnt turn my nose up at either one long as it had 8 cylinders and 3 pedals on the floor...

perhaps someone should point out that the challenger has ONLY EVER BEEN a rebadged car??
the original challenger was a rebadged plymouth cuda...which had been offered for 6 years by the time the challenger was released, and the late 1970s challenger was just a mitsubish galant lambda, turned mitsubishi sapporo, rebadged.

I too relaize the 'Cuda version is just a "one off" for now, but hey, let's not forget that the Dart GTS started out that way too w/ Mr. Norm ramming a 383 in a lowly Dart when "Chrysler" said it could not be done. Then he stuck a 440 in it as well.
I could see them doing this depending on how the Challenger does. Especially if they outsource it to a "shop" which would then not screw up their production lines. In my scenario (just guessing here) they would be using Challengers and then changing grills, tail panels, hoods and other graphic elements. No doubt at a serious mark up though.
