This is stupit. Campare the Caliber and this and there almost the same thing. Why the hell whould you have two cars in the same class competing against each other?

If anything they should have relooked at the Caliber, lighten it up, get a 6 speed manual /auto trans., up it's gas milage and make a sedan version.

Guys, the fuel economy on this thing is way better than the Caliber.

2008 Nissan Versa 1.8L 6-Spd Manual: 26 City, 31 Highway
2008 Nissan Versa 1.8L CVT: 27 City, 33 Highway
2008 Nissan Versa 1.8L 4-Spd Auto: 24 City, 32 Highway

2008 Dodge Caliber 1.8L 5-Spd Manual: 24 City, 29 Highway
2008 Dodge Caliber 2.4L 5-Spd Manual: 23 City, 29 Highway
2008 Dodge Caliber 2L CVT: 23 City, 27 Highway
2008 Dodge Caliber 2.4L CVT: 21 City, 25 Highway

Those are all from fueleconomy.gov and with the FWD Caliber, the AWD is worse. Lowest mpg Versa still bests the highest mpg Caliber.

That not a big diffrance in mileage at all. Give the Caliber a 6 speed and it would probably match it.

Seriously doubt that man. A simple transmission will not make up for that much MPG.

This one is attractive to MPG lovers.

If you notice the Versa's CVT is rated higher for mpg than its 6-speed on the same engine.

Honestly I don't mind the idea of Dodge having small cars built for them by Nissan. Killing off the Neon shows me Dodge has no idea what they're doing in that market anyway...
