MDS for 2006?
That one is still out for debate.
Some around here will tell you yes.
My response would be no.
Why would you EVER want MDS on a truck?
Especially a 2500.
You don't buy trucks for fuel economy and 2500's are exempt from CAFE so it wouldn't matter if it had it or not. It does nothing for Chrysler's CAFE numbers.
Someday a 1500 might have it, but why? To please people who buy the wrong vehicle to begin with.

i agree. you don't buy a a truck for fuel economy but if it helps and doesn't affect the ability of a truck to be a truck then what does it hurt. i guess it is along the same lines as someone putting on a tonneau cover.

why can't you see the practicality of it in a truck, 99% of people who need a truck don't need the truck features of it all the time, only some of the time, the rest of the time it's nothing more than a car with a really big trunk, and unless you are a multi millionare you can use the better fuel economy, especialy with current gas prices, and since the system only kicks in when you aren't using the extra power it would have no disadvantages at all having it in a truck.
True, most people don't use a truck for its full potential. However, some people do. I for one, wouldn't use it for its full potential. I just hate the idea of more computer-controlled crap in cars. I hate computers where they do not belong. Sure, they maybe ok for a few years, but they DO develop problems, and than its a pain in the ***.
Quote from Chryslers website "Chrysler's industry-only MDS seamlessly turns off fuel consumption in four cylinders of the 300C's HEMI engine, which combines world-class performance with 10 to 20 percent better fuel economy..." So, lets say we get a 15% fuel savings in a truck, which gets, lets say, 13MPG. That would turn that into around 15MPG. (Or somewheres around 2MPG extra) I, for one, am willing to make the sacrifice of upto 2MPG for the sake of NOT having a stupid computer controlled crap.
Again, as GMSucks said, no-one buys a truck for its fuel-economy. I say, deal with the gas-consumption.
If your concern is gas prices, don't look at a truck (or SUV). If you want a car that will last a long time, why are you looking at anything computer controlled (more than it needs to be)? (All I have to remember is my friends moms 2003 Mitsu. Diamante. He had this cigar-to-cigar lighter car charger. Worked fine in his Taurus, 3500-Ram van, and E-150. But, when he used it in the Mitsu. it fried everything. (Heater A/C blower didnt work, no power windows, locks, power trunk release, etc) but hey, they got a nice discount on on 03 or 04 Endevor)
I will dread the day they go to this standard. (Although, I could be wrong, and I hope I am)

When I bought my truck I wanted size+. I'm a big guy and I like room.I want to see over the other cars on the road. I pull a large boat, but not every day ,I need a truck, But, gas mileage is still important to me. I got the Hemi. May have been a mistake, not sure yet. My old truck was a 95 Ford Bronco. It was a great truck, it pulled my boat with ease. had the 5.0 engine. One problem was the Mileage was worst then the Hemi. We had it for nine years. Only got rid of it because the transmission went out in it twice in one year and Ford wouldn't stand behind it the second time. So far this Dodge dealer isn't much better. May have to take them to court. If they don't fix my rear brakes. They have refused to work on them twice so far and the truck only has 4600 miles on it.
