That's because unions were created when there weren't laws to protect workers, now they are only there to suck the life out of businesses. And they've succeeded.
GM has announced today that North American operations will be shut down for atleast the month of January.
interestingly, ford has ordered another shift for the F150 plant. when i went through that on the media tour, it looked like a pretty nice place to work. ford doesnt seem to be feeling the crunch like gm and dodge.
yeah an are probably looking to get rid of mazda (or their share of it)... if it were me, i would kill mercury and focus on lincoln and ford (or vice versa)
sorry, we were kinda on the ford (not need any help... yet) aspect and nofrag was refering to the getting rid of volvo... i said that they should also look at selling their stake in mazda and killing either lincoln or mercury so they don't have the wasted money that goes into keeping those stupid... i mean pointless crappy brands in place...

oh gotcha, yeah I would definently say kill mercury and or lincoln, which ever is less profitable
when i toured the F150 plant, they bragged about how easy they had made the job for thw worker, with things like the rad support and pretty much everything on it, and the dash, with everything on it...already put together...the swing it into place with a hydraulic arm, and bolt it down. the job has gotten easier over the last 50 years, and the union reps need to recognize that, and be a little less shortsighted for the sake of their industry.
