Default Nissan Titan Hemified???

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/03/c...-get-hemified/

I guess this isn't new news, but I just heard about it.

Check it out, Nissan and Chrysler reached a deal where the new Nissan Titan is going to use the 2009 Ram body and drivetrain, with Nissan accenting the front and rear of the truck.

What's going to happen with this if Chrysler goes belly-up?

I dont wanna see anyone lose their jobs, but the only positive thing about Dodge going under would be the Titan wouldnt have to be degraded by getting a Hemi. Ill take the 5.6 in my 09 over a Hemi anyday.

That being said, for the sake of jobs, I truly hope they survive.

You'll take the 5.6 over the Hemi??? I mean, c'mon, I know that Titans are supposedly faster than the Rams, but I've heard that that's due to the slushbox, nothing with HP. My buddy has a Titan, and he got OWNED!!!! by a Jeep Cherokee...can't recall what motor it had, as we couldn't keep up to read it. Granted, there were four adults in his truck, but really, I mean OWNED!! He couldn't keep up...the guy finally slowed down and stuck his hand out the window and waved him by. LOL!

The Titan is smaller and lighter than the RAM, but is slower and can't tow as much.

Degraded by getting a Hemi?

Current numbers from the manufacturer websites:
Nissan 5.6L: 317hp 385lb/ft
Dodge Hemi 5.7L: 390hp 410lb/ft
Dodge 4.7L: 310hp 330lb/ft

Even the new 4.7L is getting closer to the Nissan 5.6, the Hemi blows it out of the water. Smoke some more crack...
