Ive said it a bazillion times, but my '00 Wrangler is 95K miles and going like a champ. The only non-consumables Ive had to replace are a track bar bushing, O2 sensor, and a radiator, which I couldve cheaped out and brazed up the pinhole leak. Thats it. Its had a 2" lift and either 33 or 32 inch tires in the 6 years Ive owned it and no issues whatsoever. I love this jeep even tho I usually drive it like I stole it!

I agree, I bought a new 95, 04, an an 09 ram and I have never had any problem at all, being competitive with my fellow workers we always ran down other brands not our own, guys with other brands were having transmission problems, blown out sparkplugs, leaking intake gaskets on the other brands, I never saw the quality problems that are talked about, I hope my next truck will be a dodge !!

Please tell which vehicle I should be having trouble with. If you treat your vehicle like sh@t, then it's gonna break-down, regardless of make. 94 rt, I know that there are some honest CDJ dealers out there, but in Idaho and now Arizona, I haven't found one. I am a certified mechanic and I have worked as a line mechanic at major auto dealers and I am sorry to have to say, ALL Chrysler shops I've gone to have been slimy and made it sound like my almost new vehicles were falling apart from non-warranty issues and I was going to have to spend huge somes of money to fix it. I called BS because I knew they were lying and the game they were playing(warranty repairs pay dealers about 1/4 what they squeeze from customer pay jobs). Who have I dealt with? Curt and Hal CDJ Caldwell, Idaho; Sundance Dodge Boise, Idaho; Bob Rice CDJ Boise, Idaho; Luke CDJ Phoenix, Az; Tucson CDJ Tucson, Az; the worst of the worst: Donovan Dodge Sierra Vista, Az. Chrysler cars are great, compared to anyone, but people have been scr@wed so badly by the dealer network, it is killing Chrysler. I bought an extended service contract for $800 for my new PT Cruiser, just so I wouldn't have to go to ANY Chrysler dealer for work. They are THAT bad!!!!!!!!!

I agree with this 100%. I could deal with some of the quality issues, if the dealers weren't so rotten.

The dealers at Chrysler are really no worse than the Ford or Chevy dealers, at least around here.

Dodge/Chrysler are WAY worse than ford or chevy. Every time I bring my wifes pacifica in for a problem I get the same line- "sorry, we couldn't replicate the problem." Same thing with the caravan we had before that. Bring in the chevy we had before those and they say "we'll have it ready by 5." No bs about it. Chryslers warranty department obviously pressures the dealers to jerk around the customers. I love dodge trucks, but I will never purchase another chrysler. Especially after ol' barry takes over the place.

From an article today, two areas of importance:

"Gonzalez also approved Chrysler’s motions that will let it continue to honor its warranties and continue its current banking practices." (Gonzalez is the judge presiding over the case)

and

"At a hearing Friday in Manhattan bankruptcy court, Chrysler attorney Corinne Ball said the company will also file its motion to sell substantially all of its assets to Italian automaker Fiat Group SpA before Saturday morning." (it sounds like Fiat will be the majority owner, not the government.

From another article, confirmation that plants have been idled:

"Corinne Ball, a lawyer for Jones Day who represents Chrysler, said during the company's first court hearing that the automaker had idled its plants. Chrysler said on Thursday that it planned to do so and that it would keep them closed for the 30 to 60 days it has planned for its restructuring."

and

""We idled all our plants -- our workers, network, supply chain -- they're all waiting on us to start up again," she said."

From my take on those quotes, it sounds like even trucks which were in progress have been halted and will remain in progress. This may delay any vehicle deliveries for vehicles which have not yet been completed.

ive bought a chrysler product brand new, slightly used, and used hard...and ive had no major problems that i didnt cause on my own, at least nothing unreasonable. the trans in amandas 94 ram went bad after 130,000 miles in 16 years, including track time with slicks. the ramcharger is around 300,000, the stratus is around 72,000 and the laser is around 135,000...vehicles are only as good as the people driving them and taking care of them. stratus RT coupes are supposedly flooded with problems, but ive driven mine hard from day one and ive not had any of those issues.

Yes, I'm sure that a bunch of politicians who can't run any of our programs correctly and who's customer service downright sucks worse than any company will be able to do this right just because they haven't destroyed an auto company...YET!

I frankly refuse to buy this pile of garbage that keeps saying Chrysler is horrible in quality, when I've had numerous positive stories with them and I see tons of bad stories from their competition.

I mean honestly make a list of the crappy engines Chrysler has made compared to everyone else.

Chrysler:

2.7L V6

Ford:
Essex 3.8L/3.9L/4.2L V6
Zetec 2.0L
Cologne 4.0L V6

GM:
X engine/High Value (you know it has to be bad when they rip off of a Wal-Mart style house brand label
54 degree V6
Quad 4
early Ecotechs
turbo High Feature variants

Toyota:
2.2L I4 (oil sludge)
3.0L V6 (oil sludge, head gaskets)

I would add the 3.9L v-6. They are long-running engines, but you get the power of a 4 cylinder with the fuel economy of a 440. Yeah, they last a long time, but the fuel used versus the usability (ie; towing) is horrible. I would have taken a 2.5L over the 3.9L in a Dakota back in the day. I never did think lopping off 2 cylinders from the 360 would make a good 6 cylinder. BTW in my original post it should be I have found NONE.
