Am I way off base here?
As some know I had a truck on order. It made the assembly line but did not make it out the door before shutdown. Will the truck ever get completed? No one knows. Could get completed, could get destroyed, but that is not my point of this post.
My point is Chrysler left customer ordered vehciles incomplete, which for all intensive purposes were sold. They then went to our government as asked for billions of dollars.
How does that make you feel? Obviously I am biased as it impacted my new truck, but for those that did not have one on order, does it upset you that Chrysler left money on the table then went limping to the government? Granted, it would not have stopped the inevitable, but they would have been a little better off.
Some numbers... Lets say there are 2000 customer orders (There is probably more than that) and the average MSRP is 30K. That would have been 60 million in sales. Trust me, this is a very low number. I know of several guys waiting on 100+K ACR Vipers.

LOL. You may not get that truck. As of right now the St. Louis North plant that builds the Ram will be closed indefinately.

.....In court documents, Chrysler said it won't keep its Sterling Heights, Mich., plant that makes Chrysler Sebrings and Dodge Avengers, and the Conner Avenue plant in Detroit that makes Dodge Vipers. The St. Louis North plant that makes Dodge Ram pickups would also close.

Sorry. I missed the emotion of the first post
From what I'm putting together from the news, just my opinion, Fiat is going to make Chrysler a very small company. I believe you'll see 1 or 2 small cars, a minivan, and a small SUV out of all this and that's it.
It's going to be like Subaru of the USA. I don't think Fiat has any interest in pickups, large SUV's or big muscle cars.
So to answer your question: No, I don't think you are way off base. Unfortunately, you are right on target.

i dont think that fiat has any interest in big vehicles in their own market, but the bigger models are the ones that have been successful lately. i dont believe for a second that theyre going to do away with models like the Ram. it would be sheer stupidity on their part to remove the few models that actually sell.

I'm pretty sure, it is silver and black. Base price is around $65K or so with the ACR option, it put it up over $100K
I'll look next week when I'm out there getting my van serviced.
It just says SRT10 on the website, but i need to look at it. I know it was over $100K with options.
If you can search a VIN it is 1B3JZ69Z09V500255 according to the website.
They do not show any Silver available @ dodge.com.

So, I spoke to a friend who is a "skilled trade" union guy..works in the HQ, and he said that he has heard nothing of the sort involving killing the Ram and LX models. he did say that fiat thinks that the pacifica, the nitro, and the pt cruiser would be good euro market models...although he didnt know if they were going to use the name on their own models, or use the current design, but they do plan on building them for the euro market overseas.
