Well I am shocked (Viper)

Exactly. Chryat has some major catching up to do if they want to compete with the new vette. Considering for about the same money, a person can get the new boosted vette over a Viper. Granted, it's going to be a niche market, but still. I guess GM didn't like the beating the viper gave the old vette.

And there you have it.... The reason they both need to be around. Without each other you have the late 70s-80s Corvette.
Now the bigger question.... Given Viper is around, at least for the near furture, will there be any other SRT-10s? Challenger concpet floating around out there, new Ram body wanting 600HP under its new hood.

The first time the ZR1 hits the track EVER it posts the single fastest time on the track for a car under 100k. This particular Corvette had NEVER been ran before at the track. It's completely different from a Z06...
SRT-10 vs. ZR1, the ZR1 won...
ZR1 vs. ACR, ACR won by less then .4 of a second....despite the ZR1 using its stock run flat tires.
Bottom line: Line up the ZR1 on the track dead even with the ACR Viper, same setup, and the Viper loses...

There's always excuses. Price, power... GM can never lose?
Yay, so the beefed up Corvette beat the regular Viper! YAY!
Um... No... It was 4 secondw, not .4. BIG difference.
The Viper SRT-10 ACR is a better car than the ZR1...
Throw the poo. lol

derrick, you cant pick and choose reasons why the fastest vette doesnt beat the fastest viper around the ring. cars are to be sent to the ring for "stock testing" in whatever form they are made, and that is true of both the viper and vette. and chase is right, it was a 4 second difference, not 4 tenths. thats a beating.
also, ive spent alot of time at the track and ive never been asked how much i spent on the car...my 500 dollar mirada has destroyed many 30,000+ cars on the track and ive been beaten by a ferrari. price is irrelevant in the garage area. also, any difference in price between the ACR and ZR1 is immaterial...its not like we are comparing a 1,000,000 car to a 50,000 car.
...one other thing, for what its worth...the vipers time was confirmed by motor trend. GM has no one to confirm their time and theyre still slower.

I'm getting really sick of that argument. Same setup? Hmm, we could talk about how one is running forced induction and one is NA, however that and the tire argument are both immaterial. The Nordschleife times were achieved with both models running in stock trim. It's not our fault nor Dodge's that GM decided to equip their supercharged flagship sports car with inferior tires...
