Anyone Heard of the Bigger HEMI?
Don't be surprised if you don't get an answer from this person. I questioned him regarding his statement back on 3/17, and sent him an email that he never replied to as well.
Perhaps, since it isn't identical to the 426 Hemi, some wouldn't consider it a "true" Hemi. But the improvements that have been made don't change the basic configuration enough to not call it a Hemi.
I would still be interested in hearing redriderbob's explaination though.[sm=smiley24.gif]

Honestly if I could take a camera into the garage I would but then I would get fired. I don't know how else to prove it to ya. So go ahead ask away.

Suspension, eh? So how much heavier is the 6.1L compared to the 5.7L HEMI? How much additional unsprung weight are the changes adding (and why)? Lastly, I don't think anybody it picturing either the 300C or the Magnum as exactly nimble, but what size of tire will the SRT-8 models be running and what sort of lateral grip are you predicting?
Do you have any info on the upcoming Charger? When and where will it debut...?

From what I've read on the Net, the 6.1 Hemi is a fact and suppose to be 383 cubic inches. I haven't done the math since I don't know the bore and stroke of the engine, but assume that the source was accurate.
6.1L = ~372 cubes, not 383. A 383 is ~6.3L. Not that it matters much, really -- a target of 440 horse and no doubt around 490+ lb.-ft. o' torque in a 3,800+ lb. Dodge LX sedan will equal some *serious* line-launching capabilities. That should shred any hopped-up version of a GTO.
Those figures in the 4,000+ lb. 300C SRT-8 will still take out the new CTS-V or even the V10-powered BMW M5...

I've heard 20" wheels, some interior changes including Viper-style seats, etc. I haven't heard anything re trans/rearend yet. The Charger SRT-8 is supposedly going to get a 6 speed manual; I haven't heard either way whether the 300 will aside from the above.
The new Charger is going to debut with Elvis behind the wheel.[sm=smiley3.gif] And why not, they've both been dead and burried for a long time now.[sm=smiley36.gif]
