Check out the latest numbers from Chrysler Group. 177 percent over June of last year! What do you think is the biggest reason for the boost?

The image refresh. No longer has the lingering cheap interior and non satisfactory purchases.

Biggest reason? How about the $1.3 billion write off the US Treasury gave Chrysler LLC to clinch the deal when they paid off the loan. That's money the US public will never get back. An additional $1.3 billion looks great on anybody's bottom line. Sergio is smilin big.

Well, that would help stabilize and return the company to profitability, but would not help sales. But I agree with the sentiment to a large extent. We Americans paid a foreign company to take over Chrysler. If that money had been simply loaned and given to Chrysler, they wouldn't have needed FIAT's help in the first place.

Check out the latest homepage news: 2011 Ram 1500 named best full-size pickup by US News & World Report. Of course it's merited, but what's the biggest reason Ram shines over its competitors?

I second that. We were an American-owned company for all of five minutes, then this B.S. Nothing against FIAT or anything but the whole bailout notion was complete garbage anyway. Only an idiot like Obama could come up with a plan that involved paying WAY too much for junk cars only to crush them--and their usable parts--so that people could buy a bunch of hyundais and kias. It would have cost the taxpayers nothing if the plan were to simply issue a direct tax credit for any new AMERICAN car purchase. That wouldve fixed the problem right there and a lot of people wouldve been able to use the money thats normally stolen by the government to buy an american product.

Instead, it means more debt that the taxpayers will have to pay and in 5 years the automakers will be right back in the same place.

I agree, new imports should not have qualified for a cash-for clunker trade in.
