Looks like Mercedes got jealous of the Cherokee SRT-8.
But it isn't faster, SRT-8 still tops the list of fast SUV's. But I think I would take this over an SRT-8 and Cayenne.

Mercedes’ new fire-breathing, 510-hp ML 63 AMG super-ute will soon be prowling the pavement, looking to take the mantle of baddest ute on the block from the Cayennes and X5s of the world. Power is supplied via an AMG-massaged, 6.3-litre V8 generating 510 hp at 6800 rpm and a maximum torque of 465 lb-ft 5200 rpm. Mercedes claims the engine as the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated production eight-cylinder. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph)comes in 5.0 seconds with top speed limited to a maximum speed of 155 mph, according to Mercedes.

Bet it would be in the 6 figure range! Strange, mercedes have a bigger engine, way more horsepower and torque, and their SUV looks smaller and possibly may be lighter than the SRT8-Jeep? So why is the specs not better than the SRT8 Jeep?
Maybe they massaged the supposedly most powerfuly aspirated v8 in the world more than they realized? I would assume 0-60 would be less than 5 sec with that kind of power.

Sad that such a smaller vehicle with much more power is not any faster but maybe slower than a vehicle that is bigger and have less power! I'll setttle for the Jeep SRT8 over this guy anyday just for the sheer size of it and comfort! I bet you can problaby buy two Jeep SRT8's for the price of one of these mercedes.

I'll setttle for the Jeep SRT8 over this guy anyday just for the sheer size of it and comfort!
