Default Dodge Ellephant 1000hp Motor

Hi everyone, I have read about this engine, apparently it delivers 1000 horsepower at the dyno, and it is original from the factory. Would anyone know how to give me some more info about it? Do you think it is reliable? Is it at its physical limit or can it be upgraded further?
Thanks so much for the advice guys

Well, it comes with a warranty...... but, how reliable it is is likely going to greatly depend on what you put it in, and what you do with it. Grandma's daily driver? It'll last forever. Teenagers Muddin' Truck? Maybe a couple weeks.....

[QUOTE = HeyYou; 3513043] D[/ QUOTE]
thank you very much : icon_toast:, it's a great engine, who knows if the horses are at the wheel or at the crankshaft.
In your opinion, how is the size very different from a chevrolet engine or are they more or less the same? I was thinking of swapping it on a corvette, the engine mounts are not a problem, they are built relatively easily, what is still obscure to me is the electronics and the size of the engine in the engine compartment compared to an LS2-3 engine-etc .. ..

That, I don't know. I would suspect it's gonna be taller though, what with the blower and all.

The original 426 hemi was nicknamed the "elephant" motor because of it's physical size. The "hell" is from the hellcat name, The hellelephant is just the two combined. The "hemi" or hemispherical head is superior to wedge style head motors in building power due to it's flow characteristics. Ever see a top fuel dragster without a hemi? As for the size compared to other motors and will it fit in "X" vehicle there you will have to do your homework. But putting a mopar motor in a Cheby i'm all for it!

I am looking for someone who has already mounted a similar engine on a corvette, so that I can have a confirmation but for now I can not find anything on the web, I know that Alepa has mounted a hemi on his 5000 horsepower dragster corvette, but I don't know what engine either, nor if the frame is still original

On a dragster, I doubt anything is original......

North of 30 grand, and thru your dealer. That is, IF they are even available.

Is this engine already at the limit of processing or is it possible to go further? That is, would it be possible to bring it to 1500 horsepower while remaining reliable on the road?
