In my opinion you may as well throw out the over priced excuse for not liking a car. Any V8 or even V6 that is good looking withpower and handlingis going to be to over priced. The Vette took a very big leap with the C6. Even a Mustang GT with the nice options is 30K. The Camaro with the V8 and Challenger SRT-8 will be mid 30s at the least, may even push 40K for a fully loaded model.

Your only option is going to be a supercharged 4 cylinder to get a "resonable price". The day of the V8 sports car for under 30K is over. The used market does open some very nice possibilties though. Everytime I start looking in a autotrader or on the net I get crazy ideas! Old muscle can be VERY FUN!

 

A brand new 330 hp Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 is $46,000. Only 4,000-6,000cheaper the SRT-10 Ram. Tell me that isn't over priced!

Mustang GT w/ options = 30k
Crossfire SRT-6 = 46k

Crossfire = over priced Mercedes in Chrysler clothes

 

You can get a 300hp Mustang GT for around 28k....and you can get a 303hp Monte Carlo SS for 28k as well.... both coupes, one RWD, one FWD.....

The Crossfire is a waste of money and it's a crappy car....for the 46k price tag of the only model worth a spit...you can buy a brand new LS2 powered Corvette....

I understand what 94rt10ohio is getting at though....the days of cheap high HP cars have come and gone.....but the bottom line is that Dodge/Chrysler are skipping out on a decent powered coupe...you have to go all the way back to the 80's to find a time when Dodge actually built a coupe worth a crap.....and no, the Stealth doesnt count because it was a rebadged Mitsu....

 

Seriously DevilsReject the Monte SS is a piece of sh*t, all of the GM FWD V8 cars are pointless. I can sit here with you and talk about torque steer and how great it is to have all that weight and then some on the drive wheels but you just wouldn't understand. And that is because you are a CHEVROLET GUY stuck in a DODGE world. The Mustange and Crossfire are different animals. And regardless of what anyone says if any of you bring up that Craptastic GT500 overpriced overweight snotball im going to shoot myself.[sm=shootshoot.gif]

Are you blind or just plain dumb.......all I did was point out that there are V8 powered coupes under 30k......did I endorse either one??? No, the hell I did not. In fact, I wouldnt buy either of the two....and I agree, the Monte SS is crap...

Also, the only thing I will say about the GT500 is at least its worth the 45k price tag as opposed to the SRT-6 Crossfire....and if you think a 330hp Mercedes clone is better then a 500hp SC'd Mustang for the price....you got reality messed up....

HA,True, but I cant see how Ford could have made the stang any better, I would never own one but other than having low quality, it’s a decent performance car.
