Production Event... This Coming Week!
Alright, I have heard this all across the net, for several weeks, and now seen another post on allpar.com... word is Dodge/Chrysler will show some new type of vehicle on August 12th in Pebble Beach... here are the options...
First... the production model and actual announcement of production of the Chrysler ME-412.
Second... a Dodge Viper based production coupe model, completely different than the race competion coupe model.
Third... the production model of the upcoming 2006 Dodge Charger RT (not SRT-8).
Now just a little reminder, Pebble Beach is considered upscale, and since Chrysler is considered Chrysler Group's upscale brand, plus don't forget that they (Chrysler) announced there in 2001, they would build the Crossfire. Also if you remember in an earlier post last week, I mentioned they green lighted the ME-412 for production and they would be announcing it soon. This leads me to think we will see the ME-412 production car, announced if not debuted there.
Dodge is supposely is going to show a new model at the Viper Owner's Invitional in Texas, which is coming close. Rumor was they were going to debut the new Ram SRT-10 Quad Cab, but since debuted at Chelsea, Michigan at the Chelsea Proving Ground, that leads me to think we will more than likely see a mock up of the 2006 Dodge Viper Coupe!
The Charger on the other hand, will probably debut in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. With production scheduled to begin a few weeks later.

No you will not see the 2000 Dodge Viper GTS/R Concept coupe in anyway... the Competition Coupe which, you can see pictures of in our Viper Forum, took their styling cues from the GTS/R Concept.... however it has been confirmed that the new Viper coupe, will look more refined!
