doesn't look good for the Mack engine plant

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll...702130351/1148

sample quote:

The German investment firm DWS renewed its call for a possible spin-off of Chrysler last weekend. DWS fund manager Henning Gebhardt told a German newspaper that excluding a potential sale would be "irresponsible."But inside DaimlerChrysler, the focus is on fixing Chrysler rather than selling it.Zetsche, LaSorda and representatives of Mercedes-Benz have been huddling for months on plans to integrate product-development at mass-market Chrysler with the upscale Mercedes brand.Several joint projects are already in the works, including development of common platforms for small cars and for the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Mercedes M-Class SUVs, according to people familiar with the plan. Some Mercedes executives have resisted melding product plans with Chrysler, fearing that consumers will perceive a dilution of the German luxury brand.

This is where Unions **** me off... because most likely the union workers will get a better package than the white collar workers..

It is only 7% but there is always that chance of one of our dads being that 7%

Get a grip we are losing 10000 people. They are only losing a 1000. The union side has already lost over 30000 chrysler jobs. So go boo hoo to somebody else.

Most likely I'm toast. People from Newark that have higher seniority than I can bump me out. If that doesnt happen read the whole plan. 3000 people across all plants due to "productivity advancements". For those that don't know what that means that is when our moronic industrial engineers come down and look for heads to whack. Then they just add the work on to the rest of the already overloaded jobs. Then surprisingly quality takes a nose dive.

So yes I am being a bit of dick, because its upper management fault we are in this mess, but who gets to pay the price? 10000 people on the floor. Management tells us what to build. They get paid a lot of money to steer this company, and they are running ita muck. LaSorda should be the first to go.

So whats so wrong for a group to be looking out for other people. In this case its the union. To me that just seemed like a very cheap shot at the union. You guys do realize that there are some "white collar" jobs at dcx that are union too. Mainly engineering.

Just for the record I don't want to see anyone lose their job, well except LaSorda.
